The Rotary Club was delighted to welcome Seyi Oluwadare to a recent meeting, where she shared her experience attending the 2026 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) program, held from May 22–24 at RKY Camp.

Sponsored by our club, Seyi joined students from across the district for a weekend focused on leadership, teamwork, personal growth, and friendship. During her presentation, she spoke enthusiastically about the many activities that made the weekend both educational and memorable.

The program included leadership workshops and group activities led by experienced facilitators, as well as outdoor experiences that helped participants connect and build confidence. Seyi shared highlights from the weekend including campfire activities, collaborative art projects, canoeing on the lake, dance sessions, and group discussions with fellow participants from many different communities.

One of the themes that stood out most in Seyi’s presentation was the importance of friendship and connection. She described how quickly participants bonded through shared challenges and activities, and how meaningful it was to meet young people with different backgrounds and perspectives.

Seyi also expressed her gratitude to the Rotary Club of Kingston Waterfront for sponsoring her participation in the program and giving her the opportunity to attend such a rewarding experience.

We are proud to support youth leadership opportunities like RYLA and were inspired by Seyi’s enthusiasm, confidence, and reflections on the weekend. We thank her for sharing her experience with us and look forward to seeing where her leadership journey takes her next.
